PRESS RELEASE - DELSOL Avocats advises EDF on the acquisition of upOwa

Electricité de France (EDF) has acquired a majority stake in the share capital of upOwa, which was founded in 2014 and specialises in supplying low-cost solar kits in Cameroon.

upOwa has completed just over 60,000 installations in favor of 300,000 people in rural Cameroon.

EDF plans to use its global expertise to help accelerate upOwa’s development and diversify its activities, including innovative solutions focused on refrigeration, low-carbon cooking and internet access in rural areas.

This investment marks a further step in EDF’s commitment to renewable energy in Africa and confirms its leading role in the continent’s energy transition.

In the context of this transaction, DELSOL Avocats advised EDF with a team including :
