PRESS RELEASE - DELSOL Avocats advised BAPS on the construction of France’s first traditional Hindu temple

DELSOL Avocats assisted BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS), an international socio-spiritual organization with numerous temples around the world, on setting up and negotiating the construction contracts for the building of a Mandir temple located in Bussy-Saint-Georges (Paris region).

Mandir’ is a Sanskrit word for a place of worship. The new Mandir in Paris will be the emblem of Indian culture and Hinduism in France. The project is part of the ‘Esplanade of Religions’, a unique concept developed in Bussy-Saint-Georges with the aim of bringing together religious centers of all faiths.

The 5,000 sq. meter building will have a basement and two upper floors, and will include a green terrace. Delivery is scheduled for the second quarter of 2026.

More specifically Nathalie PEYRON, partner within the Real estate - Construction team, assisted BAPS with this project. She was responsible for

  • explaining the legal obligations of a project owner and of the builders to BAPS representative ;
  • drafting and negotiating the contract with the architect and the project management team ;
  • drafting and negotiating the works contract with the appointed contractor (Vinci Construction) ;
  • monitoring the submission of bank guarantees ;
  • assisting the project owner in implementing the insurance policies required for the project.

In the context of this project, BAPS was also assisted by Lionel DEVIC (partner) on associative aspects, Adrien WILLIOT (partner) on real estate aspects, and Anna MILLERET-GODET (partner) on employment law issues.
